Youth Sports Officials - CURRENTLY TAKING APPLICATIONS
Ages: 15 & older (the ability to drive to work)
T-Ball/Softball/Baseball - May – July
Weekday evenings with an occasional weekend
Soccer/Flag Football/ Volleyball - Sept. - Oct. / April – May
Weekends with an occasional weekday evening
Basketball - January - February
Weekends with an occasional weekday evening
Adult Sports Officials - CURRENTLY TAKING APPLICATIONS
Ages: 16 & older
Sports: All are Evenings during the week and some weekends
Spring: Adult Volleyball, Slow Pitch Softball
Summer: High School Volleyball & Basketball, Adult Slow Pitch Softball
Fall: Slow Pitch Softball, Adult Volleyball
Winter: Adult Basketball
Wellness Group Fitness Instructors AND Water Fitness Instructors - CURRENTLY TAKING APPLICATIONS
Ages: 18 & older
Dates vary:
Water Fitness Instructors: May-August when Hays Aquatic Park is open
Group Fitness Instructors: Year-round at the HRC Fitness Center
Past Fitness instructor experience is preferred but not required for the right applicant.
Sports Complex Concession Workers - FULL for the 2026 season
Dates Needed: April 1 – August
Age preferred: 14 & older (the ability to drive to work)
Must be able to work weekday evenings - Memorial Day - September AND Weekends April - September
Maybe other opportunities throughout the year, once employed, that are not at the complex.
Sports Complex Concession Manager - FULL for the 2026 season

Age preferred: 18 & older
Must be able to work weekday evening Memorial Day - September, along with Weekends April - September. Must be reliable and responsible for scheduling, supervising shifts, and implementing policies and procedures.
Youth Sports Coaches - if you have a child playing and you want to coach please note it when registering,
you do not have to fill out this application.
Soccer/Flag Football/ Volleyball – April – May & Sept. - Oct.

Scholarship Program
Programs and activities offered by HRC are supported in large part by user fees. Families meeting income guidelines may be eligible for scholarship assistance for their children.
Scholarship application forms are available online (haysrec.org-->About & Forms --> Applications & Forms) or in the office and require five to seven business days to be processed, please plan ahead! Please call 785-623-2650 with questions.
All applications must be renewed each year beginning January 1 with updated income verification information to qualify for the program.
Scholarship Funding for this program is made possible by private donations. If you are interested in contributing to the Youth Scholarship Program, please contact the HRC office.
