Youth Sports
THE GOAL OF OUR YOUTH SPORTS PROGRAMS...
...is to provide quality programming with responsible leaders so youth have the opportunity to grow and learn. We are not a training ground for future stars or college athletes; rather, we are a program in which opportunity for participation is provided to all who enter, regardless of skill or ability level. We wish to provide youth with a FUN learning experience and the opportunity to develop lifetime leisure skills.
YOUTH SPORTS PROGRAM POLICIES
All teams will be formed by the Hays Recreation Commission utilizing a computer software program designed to balance teams by age or grade and skill level.
A $5.00 per child late registration fee will be charged for all late registrations. Late registration will be accepted after the deadline up until teams are full or games start. All late registrations will be put on a waiting list. Waiting list applicants will not be guaranteed placement. Late registration sign-up may not request to be placed on a specific team.
Youth will be contacted by their volunteer coach as to when/where practices will be held, as well as game schedules.
Team Sports Refund Policy: No refunds will be granted after teams are formed unless a participant becomes injured or moves away.
Requests for three coaches to coach a team together will not be allowed unless one of the coaches does not have a child participating in the program.
No requests for youth to be placed on the same team will be allowed unless both youths live outside of the Hays city limits and live within a reasonable distance from each other.
Out-of-district participants will be charged a $5.00 out-of-district fee per individual/per sport.

Have a summer of fun playing Baseball. Leagues may have to be altered depending on registration numbers. Practices are conducted by volunteer coaches, at the time they choose. Games are held during the week.

PEE WEE TEE BALL
Pee Wee Tee Ball is a developmentally appropriate introductory baseball/softball program. The program prepares children and their parents for organized baseball/softball in a fun environment. Parents and their children will learn skills like hitting, base running, catching, and throwing. This is a great way to learn baseball/softball and spend some quality time with your child. All participants will receive a T-shirt.

HRC BASKETBALL CAMP

Make plans to sign up for Youth Volleyball. This league will be a fun way to learn to play the exciting sport of volleyball. Practices are conducted by volunteer coaches, at the time they choose, ONCE a week for 1.5 hours, and games are played on Saturdays.

The youth soccer leagues focus on fundamental skills, fun, participation, and social interaction through practice and organized games. These leagues are for the basic soccer player to the advanced soccer player. The soccer league is offered to boys and girls. Practices are conducted by volunteer coaches, at the time they choose, two times a week for one hour, and games are played mostly on Saturdays and a few Sundays.

Dive into the thrill of Girls Flag Football! Designed for girls aged 6-12, it’s your chance to shine in a fun-filled season where mastering fundamentals, team spirit, and making new friends take center stage. With practices twice a week and games mostly on Sundays, get ready to bring your A-game to the field!

The youth flag football leagues focus on fundamental skills, fun, participation, and social interaction through practice and organized games. Participants will receive their jerseys as part of the entry fee. Practices are conducted by volunteer coaches, at the time they choose, two times a week for one hour, and games are played mostly on Sundays with a few Saturdays.

VOLLEY-TOTS
Volley-Tots is a camp designed for youth entering Kindergarten through 2nd grade. Kids will learn the fundamentals of volleyball in this program designed to develop skills, while also developing teamwork, sportsmanship, and a love for the game!! Parents are encouraged to attend and are welcome to participate! All participants will receive a T-shirt.

All participants will receive a T-Shirt.
