Regulations and Limitations during the
Phases of re-opening!

 

WELCOME BACK! 
The Fitness Center has been open since Monday and the Rec Center will open on Tuesday! 
We are excited to take the next steps to get you back to your “new” normal life again. 
We want to let you know of some policy changes that will take place from May 26 through Phase 4/Phase Out. 
We thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

REC CENTER - GYMS

Please check www.haysrec.org for the open gym schedule as we have adjusted it each week.

1. Only the Front doors are open to come into so that we can keep track of the number of people in the facility.  This number will change with each phase.  Please exit out the north side doors.

2. Wash your hands before entering the gyms and or rooms.

3. Water fountains will be turned off during this time to prevent the spread of germs.  Please bring your own water bottles with lids - FULL.  No food in the gyms.

4. No equipment will be available for check-out.
Volleyball nets will be up and staff can set up Pickleball nets by request.  All other equipment/balls including volleyballs, basketballs, pickleball balls, pickleball paddles, etc. will need to be brought from home and not shared with others.

5. You will need to maintain 6 feet distance from others when possible. You will not be allowed to gather on benched or bleachers during open gym times. No pickup basketball games.

6. Only controlled practices for volleyball/basketball will be allowed during Phase 2.  No pick-up games will be allowed!

7. We will adhere to the 36 square feet per person which represents social distancing.

REC CENTER – CARDS

1. Water fountains will be turned off during this time to prevent the spread of germs.  Please bring your own water bottles with lids - FULL

2. Wash your hands before entering the room.

3. Monday Night Pinochle will resume on June 1. During June there will be NO supervisor for Pinochle. Pop will still be provided and available in the refrigerator. Popcorn will not be served due to CDC recommendations/guidelines.  Please practice appropriate hand washing, and limit touching of face or personal belongings while participating in card playing.

4. Tuesday Bridge will resume on June 2. Please practice appropriate hand washing, and limit touching of face or personal belongings while participating in card playing.

5. Thursday Night Pitch will resume June 4. Please practice appropriate hand washing, and limit touching of face or personal belongings while participating in card playing.

6. We will be cleaning and disinfecting according to CDC/KRPA guidelines.

FITNESS CENTER – WORKOUT CENTER

Hours As of May 22, 2020, are:  Monday – Friday 4:30am – 9:00pm, Saturday 6:00am – 5:00pm, Sunday 8:00am – 5:00pm

1. You must wash your hands before entering our Fitness Center or Group Fitness Studios.

2. Fitness Center “cubbies” will no longer be available during this period.

3. Drinking fountains are turned off to help stop the spread of germs.  Bring a bottle, you can still use the bottle filler.

4. Please help keep our facility clean. Use “one” of our single serving gym wipes when finished using our equipment or weight(s).

5. Maintain social distancing. This is defined as keeping a 6’ ft. distance between you and another gym member when able.

6. We will adhere to the 36 square feet per person which represents social distancing.

7. We are no longer issuing towels for personal use. You may bring your own.

8. You may not use any equipment that is marked with a cone. Our strength machines marked with a cone will be switched every day. This is to meet the social distancing guidelines, thanks for understanding.

9. There is a (2) person occupancy limit while using the Free Weight and DB area. A third person may enter to grab equipment but may not stay.

10. All Group Fitness equipment is off-limits outside of class. Studio 2 is off-limits and unusable outside of class. Studio 1 may be used outside of class if and when available.

11. We will be cleaning and disinfecting according to CDC/KRPA guidelines.

FITNESS CENTER – GROUP FITNESS

1. You must wash your hands before entering our Fitness Center or Group Fitness Studios

2.  We are no longer issuing towels for personal use. You may bring your own.

3. Group classes will resume Tuesday, May 26.

4. Drinking fountains are turned off to help stop the spread of germs.  Bring a bottle, you can still use the bottle filler.

5. We are limiting 10 persons per class.  YOU MAY RESERVE YOUR SPOT UP TO 24 HOURS IN ADVANCE.  To reserve your spot stop by the fitness center front desk or call 785-623-2658.

6. We will be cleaning and disinfecting according to CDC/KRPA guidelines.

AQUATIC PARK

1. The Hays Aquatic Park will plan to open on June 8th. Wilson pool will not open this summer.

2. No lounge chairs will be available in Phase 2 or Phase 3. We encourage you to bring your own chair to the pool.

3. Swim lessons will begin on June 22.

4. Aquatic Fitness classes will begin on June 15.

5. Season passes are on sale now for $35 for the season. Purchase or renew online, or in the office.
