HRC offers a lineup of regularly-scheduled adult wellness activities, as well as seasonal and sporadic events. We strive to offer a well-rounded selection of fun, challenging activities that will be enjoyable, introduce you to new friends, and make it easier to stay healthy.

If you have any ideas for wellness programs you’d like to see HRC offer, or if you have talents you’d like to share in the form of an event, class, or ongoing activity, please give us a call. We’re always looking to improve our offerings, and we’re always in search of new instructors who can help us do that. We offer competitive pay for instructors. To inquire, call us at 785-623-2658.

ONGOING WELLNESS PROGRAM

BLOOD PRESSURE CHECK
Have you had your blood pressure checked lately?  You can have your blood pressure checked monthly or weekly for free.  A personal card will be filled out just for you and kept on file at the HRC Fitness Center.

WEEKLY WEIGH-IN
Staying motivated to lose those extra pounds can be very challenging.  A personal card will be started for you and each week you will chart your progress toward your goal.  There is no charge!

HRC GYM DAILY WALKERS
Keep track of your mileage and at 100 miles receive a t-shirt. You must register with us and walk 100 miles in one calendar year. Individuals must walk the HRC GYMS routinely to be eligible for this.  Times are available all day to walk, however, the best time to walk is between 5:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Monday - Friday.  Check our web page or call the office to confirm the open gym time.
  Walk all 3 gyms - 9 laps = 1 mile
  Walk Gym #1 & #2 - 12 laps = 1 mile

BARRE WORKOUT
Join the HRC for an introduction to a Barre workout.  Barre is a toning, body-weight workout. It engages muscles you wouldn't normally target—ones deep inside your body that squats, lunges, and sit-ups don't reach. With high-reps and low-impact movements, barre challenges anyone looking to fine-tune their muscles.

NEON CARDIO STRENGTH AND STRETCH
Meet us Friday night for a glow night show with a HITT workout followed by a full-body stretch. Starting with an interval class that combines a combination of weights and body weight strength. We will follow with the body stretch ending with some refreshing snacks and drinks. Music is provided by our DJ Kevin Sauer with Midnight Productions.

INTERNATIONAL DAY OF YOGA
This is the day everyone around the world practice yoga.  It is the longest day of the summer.  Yoga is a form of stretch for the body but it also helps with the release of stress that we carry in our lives.  Let this be a day you can just enjoy giving to yourself. Join me for a class at different locations throughout the day.

EVENING YOGA

Summer begins to come to an end, come ease into the busy season with a relaxing evening of yoga.  Top it off with wine and dessert.

NATIONAL YOGA MONTH

September is National Yoga Month! The purpose of this month is to promote the health benefits of yoga and inspire a healthy lifestyle. According to the National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health (NCCIH), many individuals practice yoga to maintain their health and well-being, improve physical fitness, relieve stress, and enhance their quality of life. Join Gail on Mondays and Wednesdays at 12:15 p.m. to bring a little yoga into your life. This class is offered year-round!

Walk 100 miles in a calendar year and earn a free commemorative t-shirt. Miles must be walked and recorded in the HRC gym. Walking can be completed during any open gym time, but between 5 am and 3 pm is ideal due to traffic in the gym. Nine laps around all three gyms is one mile; twelve laps around gyms 1 & 2 is a mile.

A club designed for running enthusiasts. The club meets weekly for group runs. Training programs available for runners training for 5k, 10k, half-marathon, and marathon races. Membership is $30 annually, and includes a running jersey and discounted entry to all HRC running and triathlon events.
