HRC CROSSFIT

CrossFit is the principal strength and conditioning program for many police academies and tactical operations teams, military special operations units, champion martial artists, and hundreds of other elite and professional athletes worldwide.  Our 4 week program delivers a fitness that is, by design, broad, general, and inclusive. Our specialty is not specializing.  You will be pushed to your physical limits and past to find out what you are truly made of.

MILFORD LAKE TRAIL RUN

This challenging trail run will be an overnight camping trip held at beautiful Milford Lake. We will leave the Recreation Center on Friday at 6:00pm and camp out.  The registration for the race will begin at 9:00am Saturday morning with the race starting soon after.  All you have to do is bring your sleeping bag and let us take care of the rest.

Depart on: Friday, September 17 @ 6:00pm

Return on: Saturday, September 18

HRC 5K RACING SERIES

Join HRC 5k racing series and challenge yourself on 4 different racing routes and through different weather conditions.  Sign-up for each individual race or pay a $40 for all 4.  All participants will receive a T-shirt and door prizes will be raffled off at each race.  Participate in all 4 and enter your name for 1 year membership to our new HRC Fitness Center!!!

   Turkey Trot Run/Walk - November 17

   Jingle Bell Jog Run/Walk - December 1

HEALTHY CHOICES: AVOIDING HOLIDAY WEIGHT GAIN

With Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years Eve coming up those healthy food choices usually get put aside.  This seminar will help you to stay on track yet allow you to still enjoy your favorite holiday meals.  We’ll help you make smart choices and get through this tough holiday time.

HEALTHY RECIPES AND MORE COOKBOOK-VOL. 2

We had a wonderful array of recipes last year and want to see more delicious ones again this year.  So turn in your favorite healthy recipes and share with your friends and anyone that is interested in healthy recipes. We will collect recipes from everyone and then put them all together in a book.  There is a 5 recipe limit per person.  The book will be for sale just in time for Christmas.

HRC HOLIDAY WORKOUT SHOWCASE

Come spend the morning sampling all of our Hays Rec Fitness classes and programs, including Step, Zumba, Tia Chi, TRX Iron, Cardio Express and CrossFit.  Door prizes and snacks will be served and drawings for memberships and other great prizes will take place.

PERSONAL TRAINING

The Hays Recreation Commission is proud to offer Personal Training in our Facilities.  We have a variety of tools and equipment to help you reach your goals.  Our Certified Personal Trainers are available to meet your fitness needs.  Personal training is by appointment only and must be set up at our office or call 623-2650.

PRE/POST-NATAL PERSONAL TRAINING

Exercising while pregnant can have endless benefits for you and your child as well as reach your fitness goals.  If you’ve already had your baby bring them with you as you get back in shape in a safe structured program.

Fee: Prenatal

           12-30 minute sessions $150

         20-30 minute sessions $250

       Postnatal

           12-30 minute sessions $140

         20-30 minute sessions $230

 

WEDNESDAY WALKERS

On the third Wednesday of every month the Hays Recreation Commission will be offering a light/healthy breakfast for everyone interested in using our gyms as a walking track.  This is great chance to get involved in one of our walking programs and meet others who also walk in our gyms.

 

CONSULTATION TUESDAYS

On the second Tuesday of every month the Hays Recreation Commission offers free health assessments, consultations and nutritional advice to help you get on track or maintain a healthy lifestyle.

 

BODY FAT ANALYSIS

A body fat analysis can be taken prior to starting any of our group fitness classes or just to keep track for yourself.  It will consist of your body weight, height, body fat percentage, and blood pressure.  Please call to set up an appointment with our Wellness Director at 623-2650.

Fee:  $10.00

 

BLOOD PRESSURE CHECK

Have you had your blood pressure checked lately?  You can have your blood pressure checked monthly or weekly for free.  A personal card will be kept on file at the HRC office.

 

WEEKLY WEIGH-IN

Staying motivated to lose those extra pounds can be very challenging.  Let us help you by dropping in weekly to weigh-in. A personal card will be started for you and each week you will chart your progress toward your goal.  There is no charge!

 

HRC GYM DAILY WALKERS
Take a walk around the HRC Gyms and you will earn great prizes!!  Keep track of your mileage and at 100 miles receive a t-shirt. You must walk 100 miles in one calendar year. Other prizes will be awarded at different milestones.  Come and use the HRC when it is to cold and wet to walk outdoors.  Individuals must walk the HRC GYMS to be eligible for this.  Times are available all day to walk, however the best time to walk is between 8:00am - 3:00pm.  Check our web page or call the office to confirm open gym time.

Walk all 3 gyms - 9 laps = 1 mile

Walk Gym #1 & #2 - 12 laps = 1 mile
