ONGOING WELLNESS PROGRAM
WEDNESDAY WALKERS BREAKFAST
On the third Wednesday of every month, the Hays Recreation Commission will be offering a light/healthy breakfast for everyone interested in using our gyms as a walking track. This program is a great way to get involved, stay active, and meet others who also walk in our gyms.
This is an assessment that has a Cardiovascular Endurance, Muscular Strength, and Flexibility Test which is used to measure your current fitness level. In addition, a 7 sight Skin Fold Test or Bio-impendence measurement is taken to calculate Body Mass Index (BMI). This complete analysis is also included in our Personal Training Packages. Senior Assessments’ are also available.
BODY FAT ANALYSIS
A Body Fat Analysis can be utilized to keep track of your progress or see where you are at prior to starting at our fitness facility. It consists of your body weight and height, or Body Mass Index (BMI), body fat percentage, and blood pressure. Please call to set up an appointment at 623-2658.
Come utilize our professional staff to help keep your goals in sight. On the 2nd Tuesday of every month, you can receive a FREE Fitness Assessment or Body Fat Analysis (by appointment only). This is a great way to keep track of your fitness progress. You must also be an active HRC Fitness Center member to be eligible for this. BLOOD PRESSURE CHECK
Have you had your blood pressure checked lately? You can have your blood pressure checked monthly or weekly for FREE. A personal card will be kept on file at the HRC Fitness Center.
WEEKLY WEIGH-IN IT’S “FREE”
Staying motivated to lose those extra pounds can be very challenging. Let us help you by dropping in weekly to weigh-in. A personal weigh-in card will be started for you, and each week you will chart your progress toward your goal. There is no charge!
Come exercise and feel at home with others your speed and your style. This is an hour-long time frame every weekday M-F from 9:00-10:00am. This segment of the day is reserved for our Senior and Adult participants who may feel out of place with the younger crowd. Come try our facility in a more welcoming environment.
STAY ACTIVE SENIORS
We are reaching out to our senior population in Hays and bringing the benefits of fitness to your residency. We travel to your retirement community once a month on Friday’s at 1:00pm, and lead you through a fun and easy to follow 45 min exercise class. Let our instructors show you how keeping active can benefit everyone’s life, no matter what the age. You can also come participate in our Senior Sit n Be Fit Class, every Tuesday and Thursday at 1:00pm. Not for individual homes or private residency. HRC GYM DAILY WALKERS
Come use the HRC Gyms when it is too cold or wet to walk outdoors. Taking laps around our Gyms will earn a PRIZE! Just keep track of your own mileage and at 100 miles, you will receive a t-shirt. Individuals must walk the HRC GYMS and complete their 100 miles in a calendar year to be eligible for this. Times are available all day to walk, however the best time to walk is between 5:00am - 12:00pm Monday - Friday. Check our web page or call the office to confirm open gym time. Walking distances:
Walk all 3 gyms - 9 laps = 1 mile
Walk Gym #1 & #2 - 12 laps = 1 mile
CORPORTATE WELLNESS AND HEALTH INCENTIVE PROGRAM
The Corporate Wellness and Health Incentive program we offer is a great way to keep your employees motivated, productive, and healthy throughout the work year. With a minimum of 5 participants you will receive a membership at discounted rate. Call the HRC Fitness Center for more details at 623-2658.
