ALTERNATIVE GRAIN BREADS _NEW

Make healthier, heartier and tastier breads using whole grains, ancient grains and alternative wheats. In this hands-on class, we'll test out breads made with spelt, einkorn, quinoa, Kamut®, and teff as well as whole wheat and dark rye. Using techniques such as pre-ferments, sourdough starters, soakers, and sprouting, we'll create breads which are more nutritious, easy to digest, and flavorful. Students will go home with a loaf ready to bake, and a batch of dough for making more at home. Students should be very familiar with the bread making process and, if possible, have taken Cathy's sourdough class.

Please bring a cookie sheet, an 8-cup lidded container, and a digital food scale if you own one.

RUMBA

The rumba is a slow, sensuous, romantic dance with much flirtation.  This is a fun dance that is traditionally done to Latin music, but can also be danced to many pop and country style songs.  The slow Latin beat, the rhythmic body and hip action, and the interaction between partners make this a favorite with many dancers.  Come have fun, get some exercise, and meet some new friends. No experience needed. Bring a partner, bring some friends, or come by yourself.
